Where I am...

I started this adoption journey almost four years ago. There have been many unexpected twists and turns but now I am on the road to adopting a baby girl from Russia. Although not her real name we will call her...Hope. For it symbolizes what she is. A miracle, sometimes a dream, always longed and prayed for. With all current paperwork completed all that stands in my way is finances. I invite you to follow my journey as my faith is tested, my belief grows deeper, and soon my Hope will be placed in my arms after so long living in my heart...May you be inspired, encouraged, humored, provoked to think, and always drawn closer to God.

Nostalgia

The holidays always bring to me a deep sense of nostalgia. That familiarly new feeling of the old and long-gone. Of Christmas' spent as a child, sleeping under the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve night, of waking up to "Santa" putting together train sets and having our morning at 3AM.
What is it about the holidays that rouses scenes of long ago? To me it brings whatever has changed in the past year into clear and impeccable focus.
Sometimes Christmas can be a sad time. For those who have lost people, memories, plans, hopes it can be a moment that emphasizes the emptiness that was once filled with that person, thing, thoughts. For still others, it is a time to come together with those they love, a time of merriment, gifts, and good food.
No matter what this Christmas means to you, I hope and pray that it will find each of you in the company of someone who loves you.
This day is full of promise. Of love. God Himself came down, gave it all up to become a baby. In the arms of a teenage mommy who knew she held her Maker in her arms. May He fill your being with peace.

When I was a little girl, we used to sit in front of our old record player, listening to records. The music of my childhood.
Yesterday we found a new record player to play all those old records! It was like going home. Memories flooded over me. So wonderful to relive those happy times. There is something delicious about hearing these songs with all the scratchy texture.

Happy Memories Everyone!!!
