Where I am...

I started this adoption journey almost four years ago. There have been many unexpected twists and turns but now I am on the road to adopting a baby girl from Russia. Although not her real name we will call her...Hope. For it symbolizes what she is. A miracle, sometimes a dream, always longed and prayed for. With all current paperwork completed all that stands in my way is finances. I invite you to follow my journey as my faith is tested, my belief grows deeper, and soon my Hope will be placed in my arms after so long living in my heart...May you be inspired, encouraged, humored, provoked to think, and always drawn closer to God.

Successful Arrival!

I am happy to say that all the necessary documents reached the Immigration office in time with only a few minor hiccups. This means that I will be able to renew my Immigration clearance (also called the I-171H) without a significant renewal fee! This is very good news.
I am scheduling to go and have my live-scan fingerprints for the first part of next month. I have to travel about two hours to a place where they can do this live scan. I am relieved that at least I have the assurance it arrived and the plans are in motion!
So, on the Russian adoption front things are right where they need to be. Fundraising and saving continues. Plan to be completed with that by early March, maybe February! Then I will restart my dossier and other documents.
Last weekend I attended the PRIDE classes for the foster-to-adopt program I am working with. It was a long weekend in that I had to travel about ten hours to and from. The class continues yesterday and today. Despite the long drives I am enjoying it. The instructors are gifted, passionate, caring people who genuinely love their work, present honest pictures of the foster system, and inspire you to be apart of this process. I will write more about it specifically but suffice it to say that I am glad I made this connection.
